Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully. They outline the simple, transparent rules and agreements for booking holiday packages, flights, hotels, and visa services with RUMS Travels.
1. Agreement to Terms & Who We Are
These Terms & Conditions govern the relationship between you and RUMS TRAVEL AND TOURISM, a registered travel agency located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Office No M03 – 43, Manazel Garhoud, Al Garhoud – Dubai).
By making an inquiry, requesting a custom itinerary, paying a deposit, or confirming a booking through our website (https://rumstravel.com), WhatsApp, email, phone, or in person at our Dubai office, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Booking Process & Payment Policy
We strive to keep the booking process as smooth and clear as possible:
- Booking Confirmation: A booking is considered officially confirmed only after we receive the agreed advance deposit or full payment and issue your official RUMS Travels Booking Voucher and Invoice.
- Accepted Payment Methods: We accept major Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard), secure online payment links, direct Bank Transfers, and Cash/Card payments at our Dubai office.
- Pricing & Inclusions: All package rates are clearly stated in US Dollars (USD) or UAE Dirhams (AED). Each itinerary specifies what is included (hotel stays, daily breakfast, airport transfers, guided tours) and excluded (personal expenses, optional tips, excess baggage fees).
- Balance Payments: Any remaining balance for your holiday package must be settled by the due date specified on your booking invoice (typically 10 to 14 days before your travel date).
3. Passports, Visas & Entry Requirements
International travel requires proper documentation:
- Passport Validity: It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure that their passport is valid for at least 6 months from their planned date of departure and has adequate blank pages for entry/exit stamps.
- Visa Assistance: RUMS Travels provides professional visa consultation and document submission assistance for our clients. Important Note: The final decision to grant or refuse a visa rests exclusively with the respective embassy, consulate, or government immigration authority. RUMS Travels cannot guarantee visa approval and is not liable for visa rejections or delays caused by government processing times.
- Travel Insurance: We strongly advise all travelers to obtain comprehensive travel and medical insurance to protect against unexpected flight cancellations, medical emergencies, or lost baggage.
4. Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or modify your booking, the following fair cancellation terms apply:
Standard Holiday Package Cancellation Schedule:
- Cancellation 30+ Days Before Departure: Refundable minus non-refundable airline/hotel fees and a standard 10% administrative processing fee.
- Cancellation 15 to 29 Days Before Departure: 50% refund of the total package price minus non-refundable supplier costs.
- Cancellation Less Than 15 Days Before Departure: Non-refundable due to strictly committed hotel, transfer, and flight reservations.
Flight Tickets & Peak Season Stays:
Flight ticket cancellations and date changes are governed strictly by the respective airline’s fare rules and airline penalties. Bookings during peak holiday seasons (such as New Year, Eid holidays, Christmas, and high season resort periods) may have non-refundable policies imposed by partner hotels.
Refund Processing Time:
Approved refunds are processed back to the original method of payment within 7 to 14 business days, depending on bank and payment gateway processing timelines.
5. Itinerary Changes & Operational Adjustments
While we always deliver the exact confirmed itinerary, unforeseen situations (such as adverse weather, airline schedule changes, or safety conditions) may occasionally require adjustments:
- If a specific tour, ferry, or flight is cancelled due to severe weather (e.g., rough sea conditions preventing an island speedboat trip), our team will arrange a suitable alternative activity or reschedule the tour at no extra cost.
- If a confirmed hotel becomes unavailable due to unforeseen maintenance, we will upgrade or provide accommodation in an equivalent or higher-category hotel.
6. Adventure Activities & Traveler Health
Many of our packages feature thrilling outdoor activities such as mountain trekking, scuba diving, skydiving, flyboarding, bungee jumping, and wildlife safaris:
- Travelers participating in high-adrenaline or water sports do so voluntarily and are responsible for ensuring they meet the required physical fitness and medical health standards.
- Travelers must follow all safety instructions, wear mandatory safety gear (life jackets, helmets, harnesses), and listen to certified instructors and licensed local guides.
7. Force Majeure
RUMS Travels shall not be held liable for failure to perform or delays in fulfilling travel arrangements resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control (“Force Majeure Events”). These include natural disasters, extreme weather, volcanic ash, earthquakes, civil unrest, war, pandemics, government border closures, or airport groundings. In such cases, we will assist you to the best of our ability with rebooking, airline credits, and rescheduling.
8. Limitation of Liability
RUMS TRAVEL AND TOURISM acts as an authorized travel coordinator and intermediary between travelers and third-party travel service providers (including airlines, resorts, hotels, transport operators, and excursion companies). While we only partner with vetted, reputable, and licensed operators:
- We are not liable for personal injury, property loss, flight delays, baggage mishandling, or damages caused by independent third-party transport or hotel operators.
- Our total liability in any dispute is strictly limited to the total amount paid by the customer for the specific booking under contention.
9. Customer Conduct & Respect for Local Laws
Travelers must abide by the laws, customs, and cultural norms of the destination country (e.g., respecting temple dress codes in Thailand/Nepal or local customs in the Maldives and UAE). RUMS Travels reserves the right to terminate services for any traveler whose behavior causes distress, danger, or damage to fellow passengers, staff, or local communities, without any liability for refunds.
10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions and any contracts entered into with RUMS TRAVEL AND TOURISM shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the Federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Dubai, UAE.
